A natural pimple patch was formulated using plant-based ingredients as a safer alternative to synthetic patches that often contain salicylic acid, a known skin irritant. This herbal patch uses orange peel extract, recognized for its antibacterial and antioxidant properties, as the main active component. The extract was obtained through maceration. Formulation process involved mixing ethanol and chloroform in equal proportions, followed by the addition of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), orange extract, tea tree oil, polyethylene glycol (PEG), and glycerine. The prepared mixture was allowed to dry for 24 hours and then peeled off to form a patch. The formulated patch was subjected to various evaluation parameters including pH, moisture content, folding endurance, elongation percentage, and skin irritation potential. Results indicated that the patch exhibited optimum performance across all tested parameters. The inclusion of both orange extract and tea tree oil significantly contributed to its effectiveness in targeting pimples. Patch demonstrated good flexibility, appropriate moisture content, and was found to be non-irritating to the skin.
